Our client currently has an opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Manager that is both ‘hands on’ and has the required Management experience. The role involves direction and control of the plant operation maintenance team.

The successful incumbent will hold a BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering as well as having at least 10 years of plant maintenance experience.

Job Description

Direct and control the plant operation maintenance team by coordinating maintenance activities at all facilities within production requirements to ensure efficient machinery performance either under planned maintenance or on a breakdown basis.
Perform major maintenance, shutdown planning and supervision on all major machinery and auxiliary equipment by organizing manpower requirements and gathering the necessary resources to ensure that the work proceeds efficiently and that all work objectives and time constraints are satisfied.
Monitor and control major maintenance budgets at all facilities by using normal accounting and statistical cost evaluation and forecasting techniques to prevent excessive expenditure.
Commissioning new plants and equipment by taking an active part with planning and starting up team in the mechanical requirements.
Monitor normal maintenance at all facilities by using site visits to ensure that normal and company recognized standards of engineering and safety are maintained.
To implement and maintain a machinery improvement campaign by monitoring current machinery performances and new market products and techniques to improve efficiency.
Maintain the highest possible level of safety on the operating facilities by ensuring that all company employees and contractors abide by the company safety regulations and procedures.
Actively participate in the development of the mechanical department employees, constantly monitoring their performance and assessing their training needs. Set up and conduct employee training according to an established program with Human Recourses.
Plant layout design, construction, mechanical and piping erection.
Control the heavy / common stores / spares availability for all facilities by monitoring the usage thereof during maintenance programs.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of plant maintenance experience.
Solid Mechanical and Technical background.
Must have good knowledge of compressor/rotating equipment’s operation and maintenance practices.
Must have a valid unendorsed code 08 driver’s license and own vehicle.
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office suite.
At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity with a strong ability to manage entry and intermediary level experienced employees.
Ability to create an environment of knowledge transfer and cross-functional teams.
Must have strong organizational and planning skills.
Experience with NOSA and ISO is essential.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
